About Us

Every year, over 2,000 Australians are diagnosed with brain cancer. With a five-year survival rate of just 22.3%, it remains the leading cause of disease-related death in children.

Peace of Mind Foundation is the only charity in Australia dedicated solely to supporting families affected by primary brain tumours, malignant or benign. We believe no family should face this journey alone.

Founded in 2013 by Clint and Bec Matthews in honour of Caroline, who passed away on her 32nd birthday, our foundation has grown from Geelong into a national service. Today, we support more than 1,000 families each year, offering personalised care from diagnosis through to bereavement.

Our Vision

Every family in Australia impacted by brain cancer will receive the support they need.

What We Do

We fill a critical gap in the system, providing care HERE and NOW for patients and families - improving quality of life and survivorship:

  • Advocacy: Guidance through connecting to local resources, and helping access essential government programs
  • Community Navigators: Australia’s first in-person brain cancer support service from diagnosis through to bereavement - outside of the medical system
  • Financial Assistance: Practical help with travel, accommodation, and daily needs
  • Emotional Support: Counselling, support groups, retreats, and community events

How You Can Help

Your support helps us to expand our programs, reach more families, and provide timely, life-changing support and care. Together, we can make a difference - so that no family faces this journey alone.
